After having explored and expressed the traditional values in his works, Dr Choong further explored into the heritage of Nature. In his expedition into the Endao Rompin rain forest, he was inspired to produced the Rhythm of Growth, Rockscape and Earthscape series. In The Rhythm of Growth Series he expressed the relationship of "The Circle of Life and Death" and the co-existence of beings in Nature. The Rockscape series was an attempt to reveal the eternal and ephemeral of Nature which shows the contrasting yet complementing relationship of Ying and Yang as well the nature to withstand the gradual erosion process and seasonal changes. The Earthscape series on the other hand manifests the notion that all things "Spring Forth From The Bowels of Earth, Live on Earth and Return to Earth". The techniques and media used in this section included hand sculpting, painting, staining and spraying on canvas and paper pulp with acrylic colours to form 2-D and relief works.

锺博士在 1985 年进入恩道云宾热带雨林中探险，在森林中他对大自然有所感触而完成了「生之韵律，岩景和沃土」三个系列的创作。生之系列表述了大自然的生息枯荣循环和相依共存之道。岩景系列试图诠释大自然的恒如与替变，突出阴阳相对又互补之道。沃土系列所表达的则是对「万物生于土，长于土，归于土」领悟的视觉表达。介体方面包含了用纸浆的形状及以淀粉彩在画布上手绘，渲染和喷射而完成平面或浮雕作品。
